The Ballyliffin Hotel is the perfect base for your 3 day whirlwind tour of Inishowen, Co.Donegal, Ireland.
Day 1
Start at our most northerly point at 'Bambas Crown' at Malin Head, where you can leave your mark on the white stones below. Follow on to 'Carrickabraghey Castle' in the picturesque Isle of Doagh (approx 1 km from Ballyliffin). Then its a walk across the beach and back to relax in the Hotel where you can learn the art to the PERFECT Pint of Guinness. Of couse the proof is in the pudding as we say, so sampling is a must!
Day 2
So its off to the beautiful sandy Tullagh Bay Beach and a walk across to Binnion bay. Then we insist you take a lesiure walk up through Butlers Glen to the Glevnevin Waterfall Or for a more challenging hike take the new approved walk from the Waterfall up to scenic Marmore Gap Loop then back to Ballyliffin and into Nancy's Barn for a well deserved Cream Tea. After that it is onto Straid Church where in the Church grounds you will find a rock with the traces of St. Colmcile knees it is said to act as a cure for any aillment.
Day 3
Today its off to Swan Park in Buncrana to ramble along side the crana river. Then onto the Grianan of Aileach a Stone Fort 800ft above sea level dating back to the 12th century. It has breathtaking views over the peninsula. Now onto Culdaff to see the Bocan Stone Circle, Temple of Deen and the Carrowmore High Crosses.
